GOALS

DEVELOPING NEW IDEAS: Through partnership with our multi-disciplinary team, THEN hopes to
• reframe foundational concepts about health and disease
• and pose New Questions.
This new science will require thinking differently: asking questions in new ways and combining different streams of information.

COLLABORATION: VISION will build a community of scientists, clinicians and advocates to develop a new, expanded medical model focused on Neurodevelopment and Brain-Body Regulation. This new comprehensive framework is urgently needed for care of people with complex emotional-physical disease and complex trauma.

SHARING KNOWLEDGE: Our goal is to learn from each other. Understanding how a person’s experience affects their Brain-Body system can help us identify the roots of disease and health disparity.
We believe that medicine and healthcare can develop a rigorous, system-science based approach to advance health and health equity.

BUILDING HOPE: VISION is designed to celebrate new concepts and inspire researchers to develop programs that build hope. Understanding the root of serious illness will offer the possibility of healing and resolving pain. Studies have shown that trauma can not only be treated, but be prevented.
